NUJP marches in the Mount Rainier Day 2006 Parade!

Saturday, May 20, 2006 at approximately 11:00am Neighbors United for Justice and Peace began to gather in the new fire station parking lot and prepare for the parade along Rhode Island Ave, Otis and 36th Streets. Carol and Ron Solomon and Lynn Robinson came all the way from from Baltimore with their "peace puppets", several members of Little Friends for Peace brought along children to ride in the "peace train", two members carried the NUJP banner, Anacostia Hours was well represented with a banner and copies of local currency and several more carried peace/anti-war signs along the route! It was a beautiful day to march for peace and justice in Mount Rainier, MD! A big thanks to all who organized and participated in this march, er, parade!

Below are some pictures of the parade...the order of snapshots is left to right, first row, second row, and so forth...most are of Neighbors United, the Peace Train and Anacostia Hours with a scattering of other marchers including the Mount Rainier Nature Center, local politicians and other marchers...enjoy!
