This 1997 picture was taken from the west side of Mount Rainier, looking from southwest to northeast. Route One (also known in DC as "Rhode Island Ave")  is heavily traveled
throughout the day, as it provides a link between such cities as Washington DC and Hyattsville, College Park and eventually Baltimore, MD. Route One also goes by other names such as Baltimore Avenue.
