The McCall Library for Irish Studies:
History and Mission
Founded in 2006 with the support of the McCall family, the library collects a variety of print and electronic resources to fulfill its primary goal of supporting scholarly research in the area of Irish
studies. In addition, the collection serves members of the public interested in furthering their knowledge of Irish language and Irish and Irish-American literature, history and culture.
Our book and journal collection includes 3,000 monographs, including some rare titles, and
10 journal subscriptions. Materials include Irish language resources, literature by Irish and
Irish-Americans writers, historical materials, sociological sources and biographies.
The McCall Library provides minimal support for genealogical research. For more information about
Irish genealogy services, please visit the National Library of Ireland’s Family History
Research site.
